A nutrient dense animal based protein diet that has over 10 lbs of lamb and fish meal for every 20 lbs of dog food. Melanin, a protein that provides pigmentation, is built from amino acids consumed in the diet. This diet contains high levels of highly digestible ingredients and concentrated sources of nutrients.
Timberwolf Legends Mediterranean formula is made with chicken fat that is high in linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid essential for life. Our chicken fat is an excellent quality ingredient that contains virtually no protein, its use does not cause allergic reactions sometimes associated with the use of fresh chicken or chicken meal.

We do not add vitamin K3 (menadione sodium bisulfate) in any of our formulas because of health risks to animals and rely instead on high levels of foods that are high in vitamin k1 such as alfalfa and kelp.

Your dog’s nutritional requirements will vary according to age, breed, climate, stress and activity levels..Timberwolf pet foods are formulated to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles for all life stages. They have met animal feeding tests using AAFCO procedures to substantiate that they provide complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages. Dogs that are stressed, working, lactating, or whelping should be fed near the high end of the above range. Please adjust accordingly. Puppies eat much more per body weight than adults. When switching to Timberwolf pet foods, gradually increase the amount fed while decreasing the previous food over a 5 – 14 day period. It is prudent to switch any new food gradually, but because Timberwolf pet foods are unique, your pet may need more time to increase the bacteria necessary to completely digest some of the ingredients. We have included direct-fed microbial or “probiotics” to assist in the development of beneficial colonies.
